HEALTH & SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (STAGE ONE)

This is a One Day Health and Safety Representative course comprising:

    • The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
    • The role of WorkSafe Health and Safety Inspectors
    • Hazard identification and management
    • Accident and incident management
    • Emergency procedures
    • Health and Safety Committees (HSC)
    • Worker participation tools
    • The Future – The Proposed Safety Star Rating Scheme (SSRS)

 

HEALTH & SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (STAGE TWO)

This is a One Day Incident Investigation course comprising:

    • The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
    • Accident and incident reporting best practice
    • Case Studies – Re-investigating the investigations of others and making recommendations
    • Personal Protective Equipment
    • Emergency Procedures
    • Health and Safety Committees (HSC)
    • The Future – The Proposed Safety Star Rating Scheme (SSRS)

 

HEALTH & SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (STAGE THREE)

This is a One Day Managing Health and Safety course comprising:

    • The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
    • The Future – The Proposed Safety Star Rating Scheme (SSRS)
    • The Health & Safety processes within their organisation
    • Assessing the risks in manual handling
    • Accident Investigation; including Root Cause Analysis
    • The roles of Workers, HS Representatives, Managers and Directors
    • ACC levies and their impact on an organisation
    • ACC WSMP and WSD – requirements and benefits

 

MANUAL HANDLING

This is a 3 ½ hour course comprising

    • Identification and understanding of contributors to manual handling injury
    • Working through main manual handling issues on this site
    • Understanding the physical make-up of the spine and injuries
    • Practical lifting and moving skills with written peer review to assist with retention of the principles covered.

 

FIRE WARDEN

  • This is a 3 ½ hour course comprising:
  • Understanding the role of fire wardens in your organisation
  • The duties of fire wardens and how they can prevent fires
  • The triangle of fire and how fire extinguisher work
  • Emergency drills – fire and other emergencies
  • Group Session – how to work with other staff to reduce fires
